GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Love was in the air at the Wickshire South Lee Buford senior home last weekend – and everyone was smitten.
Residents John and Martha celebrated their 70th anniversary together with a beautiful meal together, surrounded by their care home workers.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the couple’s family was unable to attend in person. However, they joined in the festivities using FaceTime.
The couple enjoyed a meal of shrimp with vegetables on a red cloth table surrounded by flowers, balloons and a special arrangement of old photos of them through the years.
The couple held hands as they celebrated their special anniversary. Wickshire South Lee Buford said their employees had “many beautiful emotions” preparing for this lunch.
So how does a couple of 70 years end a special meal like this? With an ice cream delight.
