Researchers from the Boston Medical Center found that your daily nightcap can do more than just ease your way to sleep. It can actually offset age-related disease such as coronary heart disease, diabetes and even stroke!
In fact, the BMC team found that alcohol prevents about 1,500 deaths a year, with 80% of those among adults aged 65 or older. This is accomplished by offsetting the aforementioned conditions in addition to lowering cholesterol levels in bile, reducing your risk of gallstones developing. That’s what I call a full-bodied benefit!
So, the next time you are debating whether or not to open that bottle of Pinot Noir, make the healthy decision and pour yourself a glass.
